Guernsey and Us

from page 51:
Once two members had read the same book, they could argue, which was our great delight. We read books, talked books, argued over books, and became dearer and dearer to one another. Other Islanders asked to join us, and our evenings together became bright, lively times--we could almost forget, now and then, the darkness outside. We still meet every fortnight.
I couldn't help but see the similarities. When I stop to think that 12 years ago you were all strangers to me, I'm really grateful that Jeana invited me to join.

  2. I agree with Tiffanie and Amy. It has been a great 12 years and I am looking forward to many more!

  3. Ditto ditto and more ditto...I really don't know what I would do without the books we read. My life would not be the same without the women I read them with! I know it will sound cheesey...but to quote lyrics from a favorite of mine..."Because I knew you, my life has changed for good!"
Thanks for all the memories, and here's to making many more.

  5. Thanks for taking on the challenge of some difficult reading and becoming some of my dearest friends no matter what we read! I love you all!
